Has anyone experience of oil changes on their Kamiq. I’m looking at getting an oil change on my DSG auto gearbox. Although with less than 12k on the clock I do lots of short journeys so the gearbox works hard.
I know the oil is not cheap (I had the oil change on my auto merc 4yrs ago total cost at main dealer was £140). Just got a price from my skoda supplying main dealer of £285. The receptionist couldn’t tell me how much was oil & how much was labour. He said I could go on-line & check Skoda standard repair times. I said seems incredibly expensive & a quote from a German car specialist (vw/audi/seat/skoda was £140. His tone change saying well you can go there if you want. Think it was a polite way of saying F/off
Anyone had this done & what was the cost

Early investigation seems to indicate it’s “for life gear oil” & should only be renewed if the gearbox is stripped for any reason.
A colleague working on reception in a VW garage said the T-ROC is sealed for life so we’re assuming as the Kamiq is a t-roc in disguise (they’re from the same stable) then it should mirror maintenance procedures. A phone call to a Kamiq dealer indicated that list probably correct” (she didn’t sound totally convincing…any thoughts.

When I picked up my DSG Kamiq in August 21 I asked about gear box oil changes and they categorically told me they were now sealed for life.

Many thanks for sharing your experience, even more convinced that I don’t need to change the oil.
Just wish the dealerships were a little more knowledgeable.

If that’s from a main dealer then it’s in the ‘ball park’. Labour will be in the region of £160/hr (regions may vary ie London) & e/oil will be around £40 approx plus filter, they’ll charge for washer fluid even if the washer bottle is full. A sump plug plus washer, it quickly mounts up. I’ve recently had a small oil change service + mot for £220 but from a V/A specialist not main dealer so no car wash/valet. ….I can clean my own car thanks. Oh! & there was no posh waiting room with complimentary coffee machine & newspapers 😂
