Auto Stop-Start Not working Some but not all the time
Service people say it is temperature-dependent
with the engine fully warm and outside temp from 3-12 centigrade it sometimes works but mostly does not
any idea what temperatures it should work?
or is it yet another trip to service

It's certainly rather unpredictable. The warmer weather seems to have persuaded it to work a little more often for us, but there are various other factors that determine whether it thinks the battery has enough spare oomph to do it. One of the key factors as I understand is the regenerative braking not many people realise the Kamiq even has, so driving style/profile will heavily influence. Air con many people find hinders it, but not so much in our experience.

Stop/start is deactivated when a/c on (for obvious reasons). Stop/start is very unpredictable & after 5 yrs of ownership I’ve given up trying to work it out, just live with its unpredictablity

As above, it's not quite as simple as that, but the aircon is certainly one of the bigger factors in its logic such as it is. Ambient/engine temperature and driving style seem the most significant for us, though only have manual aircon (permanently on, ambient temperature permitting) not climate control.

Neither my previous Karoq or the Kamiq air con inhibits the stop start. Seemed to be more battery voltage. Both cars have climate control on automatic

Yeah, "happily" (the car, not me) stuck in traffic today and the stop-start decided it was a cooperative day, and the air con was on double duty with no impact at all.

I believe there are a number of factors that allow S/S to work automatically.
Temperature, if it's cold, it doesn't activate. But sometimes the temperature can be different to cause this as mentioned. Mine was anything between 8° to 10° .

Battery level. If the sensors thing the battery is below a certain level, it doesn't activate.

Items on in the car. The heated rear window, air con with blower, or heated mirrors stop it ( usually!) from activating if they are on, individually ot together.
As mentioned though, it seems individual cars can be slightly different.

Quite likely the driving style in that case, given how the (little-known, and even less understood) braking regen will affect the "excess" battery charge that my sense is ultimately necessary for S/S to engage.

My previous car a 2013 Golf MK7 1.4 TSI never had any problems with the stop start, for better or worse

My Kamiq is certain erratic, but it's a the stop start is a bit of a nuisance anyway.
